As of August 01, 2007, commercial vehicles carrying 80,000 pounds or more on the interstate system will be required to purchase annual South Dakota interstate permits. SELF-ISSUING SINGLE TRIP PERMITS WILL NO LONGER BE VALID. Permits can be obtained from the online permitting system (link below), Ports of Entry, active Weigh Stations, Highway Patrol offices, Troopers, or Motor Carrier Personnel.
