The Transportation Division of the Public Utilities Commission offers two types of authority, Exempt and Single State. Both of these programs deal with providing valid insurance. For further information, go to the PUC web site listed below. Applications for authority can also be obtained on this site.
Exempt authority is for interstate for hire carriers hauling only exempt commodities that are still in their natural state. Examples of exempt commodities include: grain, trees, dirt, livestock, etc.
